These leather bow template makes a really great fast and easy craft project perfect for adding embellishment to almost anything!
Spring has me thinking about all things sweet and darling. Two years ago around this time I was nesting like crazy – and after the house was scrubbed and frozen dinners were prepped I moved my attentions to cute little lady crafts. I wanted to make my future little baby girl some of those darling headbands you see in all the cute photos of new born babies. So I started crafting and came up with this template for these little leather bows. Fast forward one month and my daughter can’t stand anything on her head – no hats, no bows, no headbands. So I’ve been sitting with a pile of cute leather bows. At this point they’ve been glued to everything you can imagine – bracelets, necklaces, boxes, flip flops. But thats the best part about them – they are really easy to make and add a great embellishment to almost anything!
I had originally intended for this pattern to be used with leather – but it works great with felt too! I think any non-woven (something that won’t fray when cut) would work well. The other great part about this template is that I have included the finished bow size so you know exactly how large they will turn out. I suggest printing actual size, but if you scale these up or down the “finished” bow size will let you know how large/small they will turn out.
You can find the template here: Leather Bow Template
HINT: Print this out on cardstock, that way when you cut and trace, you’ll have an easier time.
If you do make any yourself, please send me some photos and I’ll feature your projects! I’m excited to see what you come up with!
